For the 10th Edition of Only Watch, Rexhep Rexhepi remains true to his vision with the Chronomètre Antimagnétique. A precision wristwatch bearing all of Rexhep Rexhepi’s hallmarks, the Chronomètre Antimagnétique is protected from magnetism by a Faraday cage surrounding the hand-finished movement.
Description
The Chronomètre Antimagnétique is both a tribute to historical antimagnetic chronometers and a practical timekeeper for modern life, where electronics containing powerful magnets are frequently encountered in everyday life.
The dial of the Chronomètre Antimagnétique is inspired by the “scientific” dials of historical chronometers. But its design is also a subtle nod to the watch’s purpose: the alternating blocks along the hour scale are an abstract representation of the opposite polarities of a magnetic field.
Like the great wristwatch chronometers that place function above form, the Chronomètre Antimagnétique features an antimagnetic stainless steel case – one of the rare metal cases made by Jean-Pierre Hagmann’s workshop (JHP).
With its symmetry and perfect finish, the Chronomètre Antimagnétique calibre is instantly recognisable as a Rexhep Rexhepi movement. The calibre is easily distinguished by its innovative structure. This one-of-a-kind timepiece will be awarded to the highest bidder during the Only Watch auction this May.

Specificities:
The case back is actually an external screw-down case back that can be removed by the wearer to reveal a second sapphire back to admire the beauty of the movement. A hand-engraved lightning bolt as a universal symbol for magnetism, will give the reference point for the correct alignment of the case back for its removal.

An independent watchmaker, both traditional and contemporary, who draws inspiration - in style, craftsmanship and technique - from Geneva's splendid watchmaking history.
He established ATELIER AKRIVIA in 2012, located in Geneva's Old Town, where REXHEP REXHEPI and his team are continually inspired by the history of the world's most famous watchmaking city. A particular specialty of ATELIER AKRIVIA is finissage, or movement finishing - perhaps the singular element that elevates watchmaking from mechanical engineering to art.
At ATELIER AKRIVIA, this work is carried out almost entirely by hand, resulting in movements with a metallic, ethereal sheen that are widely recognized as among the best in the industry. A detail particularly appreciated by collectors is the edge of the movement's bridges, which has been filed, chamfered and polished by hand to create a lustrous, mirrored bevel called anglage.
