For the first time Bart and Tim decided to add a hinged hunter case back to one of their timepieces. This Grönefeld 1941 Principia Mandala is the first and only Grönefeld timepiece that has such a case back. The inside of the case back has an engraving with the images of Bart, Tim and their father Sjef.
The dial of the watch showcases a vibrant and intricate mandala design, inspired by the colorful logo of the 10th anniversary of Only Watch. A mandala is a symbol of the universe in its ideal form, it holds the power to transform a universe of suffering into one of joy.
. On the dial, you'll find highly polished hour markers. To make this unique dial we started off with 60 base dials to create one perfect dial. It took 16 clichés to print the dial, one cliché for each color.

It all began in 1912 in Oldenzaal, a small town in the Netherlands. At the time Johan Grönefeld, the grandfather of Bart and Tim, was a visionary watchmaker who possessed an unmatched passion for clock, turret and watch movements.
By the end of the 1960’s Sjef – inspired by his father - and Netty Grönefeld continued Johan’s business and paved the horological path for their sons Bart and Tim.
In 2008, Bart and Tim launched the brand Grönefeld. With three GPHG awards the Grönefeld name became synonymous with exceptional quality and craftsmanship, a testament to the skills passed down from one
generation to the next.
